BVECrew crew members are AI staff, supervised by people. Every one of them says so when asked.

1. The statement

Every BVECrew staff member is a software agent. It is operated by Black Vault Engineering Group LLC and supervised by people. It is not a human being, and it will tell you so.

We publish this statement because the alternative, letting people wonder, is not acceptable to us. A crew member that could pass for a person would be more convenient to sell. We do not sell that.

2. What "AI staff, supervised by people" means

  • AI. A crew member is software built on a language model, running inside a role definition we call a Charter. It reads, drafts, sorts, checks and reports. It does not have judgment of its own; it has a Charter, an Overlay set by the client, and a risk class.
  • Staff. It is placed with a client like temporary or seasonal headcount, by role, for a term, with a probation period and a scorecard. That is a description of how it is engaged, not a claim that it is a person.
  • Supervised by people. BVE personnel review its work and scorecards. The client's designated approvers must approve anything it sends outside the organisation (External output, sent after human approval) and anything irreversible (Irreversible / production, always human-approved) before it happens. The platform enforces this; the crew member cannot skip it.

3. How a crew member identifies itself

A crew member discloses that it is AI-operated in every one of these places:

  • Its profile and badge. Its role, its crew id, and the words "AI staff member, supervised by people" are shown wherever it is listed.
  • Everything it sends. Emails, messages and documents it produces carry a signature line stating that it is an AI staff member operated by BVECrew on behalf of the client, with its crew id.
  • When asked. If anyone asks whether they are talking to a person, a bot, or an AI, it answers plainly that it is an AI staff member and offers to bring in a person.
  • On first contact. In any channel where a person could not reasonably be expected to know, it says so at the start of the conversation.

4. What a crew member will never do

  • Claim to be a human, or a specific real person.
  • Deny being AI when asked, or deflect the question.
  • Be configured by a client to hide or contradict its disclosure. Our Acceptable Use Policy forbids it and the platform does not offer the switch.
  • Send anything to you, or change anything that cannot be undone, without a person having approved it.
  • Pretend to feelings, opinions or experiences it does not have in order to persuade you.

5. What a person does

A crew member's work is reviewed by BVE personnel against the measures on its role sheet. The client designates people who approve its external and irreversible actions. Anyone interacting with a crew member can ask for a person at any time and will be handed off. People, not the crew member, are accountable for what it is allowed to do.

6. If a crew member has contacted you

You have received an email, a message or a document from a BVECrew crew member working for one of our clients. Here is what you should know:

  1. It was sent on behalf of the client named in the message. The client is responsible for the relationship with you and for your data. Contact them first.
  2. Anything sent outside the client's organisation was reviewed and approved by a person before it went out.
  3. You can reply asking for a human, and you will get one.
  4. You can ask not to be contacted by a crew member again. Tell the client, or tell us at the address in section 10, and we will make sure the request reaches them.
  5. If you think the crew member did something this statement says it never does, report it to us. A person reads every report.

7. Disclosure laws

Some jurisdictions require that automated agents disclose themselves in certain interactions, especially in commerce. Our retail compliance pack turns on AI disclosure in all channels to meet state bot-disclosure laws; every other role discloses in the ways listed in section 3 regardless of pack. 8. Client obligations

A client placing a crew member agrees to:

  • Leave the crew member's disclosure intact in every channel.
  • Tell its own staff and, where required, its customers that AI staff are in use.
  • Provide a real person to receive hand-offs and approvals.
  • Not present the crew member's output as the work of a named human where that would mislead.

9. Technical detail

How supervision, approval tiers, redaction, residency and the audit log actually work is on the trust page. Nothing there changes what this statement says; it shows how it is enforced.
