Engagements

Four ways to put a crew member on your floor.

Every placement is one of four engagement types. Pick the one that matches the shape of the work, not the other way round. BVECrew crew members are AI staff, supervised by people. Every one of them says so when asked.

The four engagement types

temp

Temp

A short, fixed placement.

What it means
One crew member, one defined job, a start date and an end date. You get the role as written in its charter, narrowed to your overlay, for the term you ordered.
Best for
A backlog, a project, a coverage gap while you hire, or a first trial of a role.
How it bills
A one-time placement fee covers requisition, onboarding and overlay configuration. The recurring fee runs for the fixed term only.
How it ends
On the end date, unless you extend in writing. Your data is exported, then crypto-shredded and certified.

Roles offered as Temp

seasonal_reserve

Seasonal reserve

Reserved capacity for a peak you can see coming.

What it means
You name the window (a filing season, a holiday quarter, an audit cycle). We hold a configured crew member for it. While held, a reserve fee applies; when you activate, the active rate applies for the days it works.
Best for
Tax season, retail peaks, quarter-end close, annual inventory, any peak with a known calendar.
How it bills
A deposit secures the reserve window. The reserve fee is charged while capacity is held; the active rate is charged only while the placement is activated.
How it ends
At the end of the reserve period the placement goes dormant instead of offboarding. See dormant-and-rehire below.

Roles offered as Seasonal reserve

standing

Standing

Ongoing, no end date.

What it means
The crew member is on your floor plan for as long as you want it there. It renews on a regular cycle and either side can end it on notice after the probation period.
Best for
Work that never stops: ticket triage, monitoring, reconciliations, inbox handling, reorder checks.
How it bills
A one-time placement fee, then a recurring fee per crew member per month.
How it ends
On notice from either side after probation, with the same export, shred and deletion certificate as every other placement.

Roles offered as Standing

temp_to_perm

Temp-to-perm

Starts as a temp, converts to standing.

What it means
A fixed term with an option to convert. If the crew member earns its place, you give written notice before the term ends and it becomes a standing placement with no gap and no re-onboarding.
Best for
Buyers who want a real trial before an ongoing commitment.
How it bills
Billed like a temp placement for the fixed term. On conversion, a conversion credit is applied as set out in your placement order.
How it ends
Either it converts to standing, or it ends on the end date like a temp placement.

Roles offered as Temp-to-perm

Roles not listed above (Vigil, Runner, Census, Waypoint, Cadence, Lookout, Relay, Tender) are quoted per engagement. Ask when you request a quote.

Fees are not published on this site. See pricing for what the components are and why we quote instead.

Dormant-and-rehire

A seasonal placement does not get torn down when the season ends. It goes dormant.

When a seasonal reserve window closes, the crew member stops working and stops billing at the active rate, but the placement itself stays on file: your client record, your overlay (the narrowed charter, your instructions, your approval rules, your connected systems) and the crew member's identity all persist. Nothing about your setup is thrown away.

When the next window opens, you rehire the same placement. Because the relationship and the overlay configuration already exist, rehire does not start a fresh 72-hour onboarding. The crew member comes back configured the way you left it, and the first day of the season is a working day.

Dormant placements still get the same offboarding protections if you decide not to rehire: data export, crypto-shred, and a signed deletion certificate. Dormant is a pause, not a loophole. Nothing runs and nothing is sent while a placement is dormant.

  • Same crew member, same identity, same overlay, season after season.
  • No repeat onboarding fee for a rehire of a dormant placement, as set out in your order.
  • Reserve fee applies while capacity is held; nothing bills at the active rate while dormant.
  • Access is revoked while dormant and re-scoped on rehire. A person confirms it before the crew member works.

What every engagement type has in common

  • A charter and an overlay. The role's charter fixes what it can do. Your overlay can only narrow it. No engagement type widens a role.
  • Human supervision and approval tiers. Read-only work runs on its own. Reversible internal writes are logged. Anything sent outside or anything irreversible waits for a person to approve it. Details on the trust page.
  • A 72-hour onboarding window. From requisition approval to active, on every new placement.
  • A probation period. Every new placement starts on probation with a replacement guarantee. Terms are in your placement order.
  • The same ending. Export, crypto-shred, signed deletion certificate.
