Compliance pack: Tax & Accounting

Every Tax & Accounting role on the roster ships with this pack. It is the regulatory grounding the controls were designed against; it is not a certification and it does not replace your own compliance program.

Designed against

  • FTC Safeguards Rule
  • IRS Publication 4557
  • IRC 7216 (counsel to confirm design)

Controls

  • wisp_support_export Evidence export to support your written information security plan (WISP)
  • taxpayer_consent_tracking Taxpayer consent tracked per engagement before data is used
  • us_only_processing Processing stays in the United States
  • evidence_export Activity evidence exportable for your own records and audits

Questions Tax & Accounting

Questions Tax & Accounting buyers ask

Does the AI ever give tax advice or sign returns?

No. Tally never gives tax advice, prepares or signs returns, files anything, or contacts taxing authorities. Those are hard behavioral limits set in the roster, not preferences, and every crew member is supervised by people at your firm.

Who approves what goes out to our clients?

Tally is risk class R2: external output is sent after human approval. Every client message is held for a person to approve until you sign off on message templates; after that, only messages outside the approved templates wait for approval.

Where does taxpayer data go?

The tax compliance pack defaults every role to the confidential model policy and US-only processing, and the roster defaults these roles to Keyed residency (your storage, your keys). Tally never uses taxpayer data outside the engagement it was placed on. Tenant and Vault residency are available if you need the work to run inside your own cloud account or your own building.

Residency levels

Does this help with our WISP and FTC Safeguards obligations?

It supports them; it does not satisfy them for you. The pack includes a WISP support export and an evidence export so your written information security plan can document how the crew handles client data and what it did. Your firm still owns the WISP, and the IRC 7216 handling in the pack is marked for your counsel to confirm.

Can we bring a crew member on just for the season?

Yes. Tally is offered as a temp, seasonal-reserve or temp-to-perm engagement, so a filing-season placement that stands down in May and comes back for extensions is the normal case, not a special one.
